Whether you're an experienced artist, a casual doodler, or simply in search of a delightful family outing, this festival welcomes everyone to turn downtown Danbury's sidewalks into a lively outdoor art gallery. Celebrate art, summer, and community spirit alongside the Danbury Farmers Market. Best of all—it's free and open to all ages and skill levels!
🖍️ How to Participate
- Register online now thru July 11
- Check-in starts at 10:00 AM at the Ives Green bandshell
- Chalk time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Spaces are limited to 18 participants—first come, first served!
- A limited amount of chalk will be provided so please bring your own.
🎨 Chalk Guidelines
We aim to keep it fun and family-friendly, so please follow these simple guidelines:
- Use only washable chalk—no paints, oils, or fixatives.
- Stay within your assigned square (approx. 41" x 41").
- Keep your artwork suitable for all ages.
- No advertising, political messages, or offensive content.
- Personal music is welcome with headphones—no amplified sound.
- This is a smoke-free and pet-free event.
- The City of Danbury reserves the right to remove inappropriate artwork.

Have a budding Picasso under 6? We’ve created a special Community Chalk Zone just for them—no registration needed!
☔ Rain or Shine
The event will proceed as long as the Farmers Market is open. Bring plastic or a tarp to protect your masterpiece in case of rain.
📸 Capture the Moment
Photos will be taken throughout the day, and by participating, you agree to have your artwork shared by the City of Danbury, CityCenter Danbury, and the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut for non-commercial purposes.

- Your favorite chalks and blending tools
- A blanket or cushion for comfort
- Sunscreen, water, and snacks
- Sketches or inspiration
- Plastic covering (in case of rain)
